Under Arizona law, Marijuana Possession is a class 6 felony. While many states have legalized marijuana, Arizona still aggressively prosecutes.
Common Punishments
Possession of Marijuana charges usually results in probation. But, if this is your first criminal offense, you may be eligible for the TASC Diversion Program. However, if you have several prior felony convictions, you could be facing a prison sentence.
Marijuana Possession Over Threshold
If you have more than two pounds of marijuana, or there’s evidence you engaged in marijuana sales, you face serious criminal charges. These charges often mandate prison. Medical Marijuana card holders are the only exception.
