In Arizona, DUI charges also result in a DUI license suspension through the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). But, these proceedings are entirely separate from your criminal case and are handled exclusively by the DMV.
Can I Request a Hearing with the DMV?
You can challenge either the Admin Per Se or Implied Consent suspension through a hearing. But, you have to request the hearing with the DMV within 15 days of your notice. So, if you fail to request a hearing, the suspension automatically begins. Driving while your license in suspended could result in additional criminal charges.
